pointless
i hear what is going on in other classes and sometimes i wonder why in the world teachers assign the work that they do. some of it just seems entirely pointless to me. maybe that is because i don't see what is going on in the rest of class and i don't see how it all connects but still... it seems like a waste of time. i wonder if people outside of my class think that sometimes. i sure hope not. i try to only have my students do assignments that will actually help them. maybe i will ask a student that i trust will be honest with me what they think.

hey tyleen! It's karissa's neighbor, sarah! Thanks for the comment on my blog! I just read through some of your last posts and was SO reminded of how HARD teaching is. That first year is killer! What am I saying, I only taught one year - wish I could have taught at least one more so I could feel like I knew what I was doing. The whole year just felt like I was trying to figure things out...myself and my teaching style especially - that balance between being "you", being serious/strict enough that the kids take you seriously, and being the best teacher you can is so hard to find. Man, I've got to hand it to you! Teaching is tough! Especially when the pay is so low that the health insurance is the bigger incentive. Anyway, keep up the good work! I bet you're an great teacher and an awesome coach!
