Apparently I have a good comeback when students are giving me excuses and all that good stuff. I credit it to growing up in a 9 member family full of sarcastic people.

I will never get used to hearing that called over the intercom.

Quote of the Day

As he is walking in to class past me almost every single day.

"Hi Ms. Limb"

"Hi ____"

"Ms. Limb you dropped your pocket" (in a calm very matter of fact way)

And then he just keeps walking. Some days he thinks he got me to look and oh boy does that crack him up.

Note of the day

A kid walked in tardy to 6th hour and handed me a note. Usually the note excuses their tardy. Today, this is what it said:

Ms. Limb

Joe (not really his name) was down in my office lying to me about homework.

Then there was the principals signature.

Haha.... oh man. I would have laughed if I wasn't so mad at the kid.

From one of the biggest tough wrestlers in class the other day:

Him: Ms Limb, I didn't do my homework.

Me: Why not?

Him: Cause I had wrestling practice.

Me: You have wrestling everyday, that's not a good reason.

Him: Well, wrestling practice was so hard yesterday I cried so when I got home I didn't want to do it.

Me: I started laughing a little because I can't imagine him crying but then realized he wasn't laughing too... "Wait, are you seirous?"

Him: Yes, you don't even know.

Me: Ok...... uh..... bring it tomorrow.


I don't know why but the kids blunt honesty made my day.

It was -10 degrees when I was driving to work today. It should be illegal to have to go to school when it is that cold. And, apparently our heating system at the school doesn't work correctly when it is less than 10 degrees. So, my room started out FREEZING today and slowly as the day has been going on it is getting HOT HOT HOT . It is not a good feeling.

Once again in my life I have learned that when I don't get enough sleep I get cranky and irritable. Last night we got home from our game at 12:30 and then I had to get warm and get in bed, fall asleep around 1 and then wake up at like 6:20 to freeze again and work another 10 1/2 hour work day.

But I learned something else important today too... Good moods are contagious. One of the basketball girls is in my 2nd period class and she just makes me happy. She is usually happy and in a good mood and just nice to everyone. She is always joking around with me and I just love her. I am glad that her mood slightly rubbed off on me today otherwise it would have been a long day for me and for my students. (I guess it didn't completely rub off though because I kicked 2 kids out today and made my entire 4th period sit in complete silence for the last 5 minutes of class today- but I guess things could have been worse)

Christmas break is in the near future and oh boy am I excited.
